The pattern of the longer threads depends on the location of the rug – if it is laid on the floor, the taller threads will become tangled and compressed over time. It is therefore recommended to choose a shorter (or plain) pattern for a floor carpet, while a wall carpet can be used in all its glory, i.e. in any pattern length.
