- Avoid contact of jewellery with chemicals. Always remove jewellery when cleaning your home or anywhere else that uses any chemicals. These can severely damage and permanently damage the surface of metals and stones.
- Only wear jewellery after all beauty treatments. Cosmetics, creams or lotions, perfumes, hair care products (hairspray, etc.) can have a strong effect on the surface of the jewellery and can change its appearance. Even if you think that, for example, perfume will not harm your jewellery if you do not spray it directly on it, you are wrong. The falling dust will still settle on the jewellery.
- Protect from moisture. Do not wash your hands, bathe, sauna, etc. with jewellery. Do not store jewellery in damp areas such as the bathroom. Do not clean jewellery with a damp cloth or rinse with water. Use a dry, soft cloth.
- Keep away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store jewellery on windowsills or other well-lit areas (e.g. dressing tables, chests of drawers, shelves, etc.). Remove jewellery before sunbathing.
- Store your jewellery in its original box or in other boxes or material bags where there is enough space. Use a separate box for each piece of jewellery to prevent the jewellery from rubbing against each other and scratching the surfaces.
- Avoid sharp objects and contact with rough surfaces.
- Your body’s pH, sweat, cosmetic residue on your body and environmental factors affect the surface of jewellery, especially metal, and can cause it to lose its shine or change colour. To maintain the beauty of your jewellery for longer, clean it with a dry, soft cloth or with special products and never use any cleaning products not designed for jewellery care.
